Strokes #3 – Ganesh Painting

Hey there ! hope you all had a good thanksgiving break. Mine was good too! had great food, attended a friend’s housewarming party and watched a lot of movies . Today I am sharing with you these small Ganesh paintings which I made for my friends in Austin. It was actually my first official commission since starting designforsoul and so will always be special.

A little info : Ganesh is considered god of success, new beginnings and strength in the hindu religion. read more here!

Strokes #1- Seascape painting

It had been a while since I touched my paint box and was feeling a little guilty about it. Yesterday afternoon however, I found some time to get back to this favorite fad of mine. Just wanted to do something simple to warm up after a long break. This one is with fast brush strokes and a simple color palette.

I tend to get into whole another world while painting which is full of ideas and inspiration.Half way through, I thought it would be kind of fun to do a series of these quick paintings. So here it is.. The series is called “STROKES”. First one is a 24×36 inches seascape…

I like to paint next to a big bright window with lots of light coming in..

Get the colors and prep the surface with some water. I am using acrylics for this one..

DIY Table Napkins

Hey there! How’s the week going so far? Today I am sharing a super easy DIY Table napkin tutorial with you guys . As you might have noticed in my previous DIY posts most of them involve paints in some or the other way. I love painting and am constantly thinking of different ways they can be used in everyday projects. The Easter egg decor involved spray painting with toothbrush and do you remember the ‘Strokes’ painting series that I started? I know I’m a lil behind on that but there will more posts coming up soon on that, promise! For now follow along on this easy DIY project to make your table pretty and ready for Spring!

You Need:

Fabric Squares – Any craft store will have them . I got mine from Hobby Lobby and they were just $1.99 a piece.

Paints- You could use any fabric or craft paints that you have. I used acrylic colors which I already had.

Sharpie- I am using a yellow brush tip fabric sharpie to draw the outline of the shapes on the fabric.

Gold Marker- I am using this one from Pen-Touch. However you could use any gold marker with the thickness of your choice

Oh and the cute little glasses you see in the pictures below are (my favs) from OhJoy! for Target collection.
