Hey there. How was your weekend? Mine was a little bit of work and a little relaxing time. So in all a pretty good one. I also made this DIY Aloe Vera face mask for myself. Which got me thinking that it would be a perfect Mother’s Day gift too! It’s super easy to make and you could also add it to a SPA gift basket if you are planning to give one . Just add a cute handwritten tag and voila! you have an excellent personalized gift ready. Don’t worry if you do not have an aloe plant, you get one very easily at your local grocery store. I was lucky enough to have one in my patio.

DIY Mid-Century Modern Inspired glasses
Hello all ! Today its another DIY day here on designforsoul. If you read yesterday’s post you’ll know I mentioned watching Mad Men recently and am totally inspired by the mid century vibe. I loved ‘Peggy Olsen’s’ character played by Elizabeth Moss. Her style, creative thinking , workspace, everything . In one of the episodes they have shown a bar cart in her office and my eye naturally went to the beautiful glasses. They appear in a couple of episodes on season 4. Below a is picture for you guys. DIY Pendant Light Fixture
A couple of days ago I attended a home decor DIY workshop organized by Ashley from Sugar&Cloth and Brittni from Paper&Stitch right here in Houston at the Sugar&Cloth studio. They did such a great job in selecting the projects and organizing everything. The studio is so amazing , I could just literally stay there forever. It was great fun doing some home decor project with a bunch of creative ladies. Both Ashley & Brittni have done the workshop round-ups on their blogs which you can read here & here. One of the projects we did that day were making a pendant light bulb fixture from scratch. It was the most time consuming of all the projects we did that day but in the end was totally worth it. I happened to complete painting it yesterday and thought I would share some pics with you. All the materials used were from COLORCORD.
There are more projects I am still working on from that day. You will be seeing them here soon. You can also check my instagram account for more pictures from the workshop.

DIY Table Napkins
Hey there! How’s the week going so far? Today I am sharing a super easy DIY Table napkin tutorial with you guys . As you might have noticed in my previous DIY posts most of them involve paints in some or the other way. I love painting and am constantly thinking of different ways they can be used in everyday projects. The Easter egg decor involved spray painting with toothbrush and do you remember the ‘Strokes’ painting series that I started? I know I’m a lil behind on that but there will more posts coming up soon on that, promise! For now follow along on this easy DIY project to make your table pretty and ready for Spring!
You Need:
Fabric Squares – Any craft store will have them . I got mine from Hobby Lobby and they were just $1.99 a piece.
Paints- You could use any fabric or craft paints that you have. I used acrylic colors which I already had.
Sharpie- I am using a yellow brush tip fabric sharpie to draw the outline of the shapes on the fabric.
Gold Marker- I am using this one from Pen-Touch. However you could use any gold marker with the thickness of your choice
Oh and the cute little glasses you see in the pictures below are (my favs) from OhJoy! for Target collection.
