What’s your favorite summer color this year? I have been leaning towards this shade of summer yellow a lot. Pantone is calling it ‘Mimosa’. Last year I was more into pastel shades but this year somehow I have been drawn to bright warm hues. Wanted to share some of my choices with ya!
Last month at Alt Summit Summer 2015 (see full post here & here) , Sherwin Williams was one of our event sponsors and they were handing out these pretty swatch cards promoting their summer color collection. My eye just went directly to this ‘decisive yellow’ shade. Trust me guys if I had a renovation going on right now, I would be definitely be using this one.
I do however, plan on painting my coffee table with it or accent a chair.

I’m so excited to share this beautiful and stylish 4th of July entertaining post with you guys today. It’s got simple DIY projects, recipes to go with our color theme, a delicious summer drink and an elegant tablescape. Cool right? I wanted to keep it simple and just bring out the patriotic colors through flowers and food. And the best way to do that was with a clean crisp white background.
THE TABLE
I made two watercolor patterns to use as placemats. I wanted to keep them subtle but give some contrast between the table and plates. I also made watercolor place cards with same shade of blue which I used for the mats and finally a bouquet of beautiful red roses. You can download the prints for free! at the end of this post.

Recently I started this blog post series called ‘current trends’ and got an amazing response from you guys. In case you missed, here it is! At the end of every current trends post I do share a free desktop download pattern/ art print for you, just to keep things a little interesting. Now that summer is here and the internet is buzzing with drinks & recipes ideas to cool off the heat, I chose today’s theme as ‘Current Trends – Fancy Colorful Summer Drinks!’ You’ve got a mix of cocktails, fizzes, milkshakes, floats, iced teas.. you name it! Hey you guys I’m back from Alt Summit and what an amazing experience it was. Totally excited to share all my experiences with you guys. But there are so many of them that I thought I would share them in two parts. One with all the pretty pictures, outfits and parties and the other with all the takeaways and learning’s. For now I wanted to share this watercolor Jazzed free download art print or desktop wallpaper with you all. It totally reflects my state of mind right now. I’m so happy, excited and inspired by all the lovely, creative and talented people I met at AltSummer2015 conference. It kind of felt nice and reassuring to meet people who understand you and who are on the same page as you are. I ‘m so happy to have been started on this blogging journey and looking forward to only grow from here.

Okay so this is my first time attending alt summer 2015 (organized by the altitudesummit) and I’m super excited. Alt Summit is a business conference for bloggers and creatives and happens twice a year in salt lake city, Utah. They have had conferences in other cities too and the best part is that it is open to all. With just 8 days more to go and so much more to do, I thought I would share a little bit of my prep with you guys. With a little research and help from fellow bloggers I have finally figured out what a media kit is and why it necessary to have one for such conferences. I have also printed out the business cards before hand (did a whole post on that here). Wardrobe is taken care off too except for one pink dress which I would need for the garden party. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I’m kind of nervous since it’s my first time attending but at the same time super excited to meet new people, speakers, bloggers and other creatives. There are a few more details which I need to work on and so I thought it would of great help if I just had a checklist to get things organized.
So I figured why not make a printable one which I could share with you guys and since we are going for a summer summit, I kind of wanted to make one with that vibe. I have filled out mine and I’m sharing that one too, in case any of you are carrying the same things as me. But if not, no worries, I have two different versions for you! Download them all at the end of this post.
